The royal christening of little Prince George took

place yesterday,23rd October inside the Chapel Royal

and was overseen by the Archbishop of Canterbury.


Prince George wore the handmade replica of the Royal Christening

Robe, made by Angela Kelly, dressmaker to the Queen. Following the

service, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall gave a private

tea at Clarence House where guests will be served slices of christening

cake, which is a tier taken from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s

wedding cake.The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen two

hymns,two lessons and two anthems for the christening. The hymns

are Breathe on Me, Breath of God  and Be Thou My Vision.The lessons

are from St. Luke ch. 18, verses 15-17, read by Catherine’s sister Pippa

 and St. John ch. 15, verses 1-5, read by Prince Harry. The anthems

are Blessed Jesu! Here we Stand (which was written by Richard 

Popplewell for Prince William’s baptism)and The Lord Bless You and

Keep You  (by John Rutter). The anthems will be performed by The

Choir of Her Majesty’s Chapel Royal and the Processional Organ

Music will be J. S. Bach’s Fantasia in G, while the Recessional

Organ Music will be C. M. Widor’s ToccatafromSymphony No 5.
