Loewe + Junya Watanabe

Loewe +  Junya Watanabe

Loewe and Junya Watanabe together in order to collaborate

and create a unique collection, that matches the Spanish leather

with the Japanese denim. The collection has been presented in

Tokyo on May 21st.

The ultra-soft napa leather is cut and stuck on the jeans, to create some

easy to wear pieces of clothing, with tartan and polka dot, denim and

leather patches. This creative exchange between the two brands is

bidirectional. Loewe has indeed produced some of the clothing for the 13

FW by Comme des Garçons, that have been presented at the Paris Fashion

Week in March. For women, the capsule collection proposes jeans-style

jackets made of napa leather, skirts made of patchwork leather, mini-skirts

made of leather and denim, and two pair of jeans made of leather and denim.

The same dialogue denim-leather also characterizes the bags’ style, among

which there is the famous Amazona by Loewe, that is available in four

different sizes. The items could be pre-ordered online on the Loewe website

until June 16th. The collection will later been available for purchase

since September 1st 2013 in 40 shops worldwide – among which there is

Dover Street Market in London and Tokyo and Jeffreys in New York.
