Ten iconic dresses that once belonged to the late Princess Diana
will hit the auction block in London today, and altogether they’re
expected to fetch close to a million dollars.
“Diana was photographed wearing them not only by the paparazzi, but
by some of the leading photographers of the day — including Mario Testino
and Lord Snowdon,” according to Kerry Taylor Auctions, which is hosting
the sale. The auction includes a black velvet dress by Victor Edelstein that
the princess wore when she danced with John Travolta at a White House
state dinner in 1985, and a blue sequined Catherine Walker gown she
wore on a visit to Austria in 1989.
