Le Bal de la Rose du Rocher 2013

 Charlotte Casiraghi and Gad Elmaleh

The “Balle des Etoiles of the Sporting Monte

Carlo” welcomes the traditional Rose Ball,

established by Princess Grace Kelly in 1954.

As well as the tradition started by the Wife of Rainieri III,

each year the evening must be associated with a different

country as well as a rose, the favorite flower of Princess

Grace. This year’s edition was special because it celebrated

the 150th anniversary of the Société des Bains de Mer,

the oldest gaming companies and luxury tourism in the

Principality of Monaco.

For the occasion, Princess Caroline of Hanover,

President of the Fondation Princesse Grace, has

entrusted the direction of the Bal de la Rose du Rocher

to her friend Karl Lagerfeld, who immediately thought

of “a dance beautiful and pop!”.

The designer has chosen to play on the contrast between

the Belle Epoque, with its own rules and its labels, and a

final evening with no patterns. Le Bal de la Rose du Rocher

2013, in fact, began immersed in the atmosphere of the

Belle Epoque thanks to the violins of Prague Philharmonic

before moving to the rhythms of pop and current artists

as Rita Ora and Theophilus London,

until the final dJ set of Caroline de Maigret.

Guests were welcomed in by Albert and Charlene,

Caroline and Charlotte accompanied by Pierre.

Alongside the young Casiraghi their boyfriends

Gad Elmaleh and Beatrice Borromeo. A real debut

for the relationship between Charlotte and actor

Gad Elmaleh, for the first time in a official occasion.

It is also important to remember the cause to which

the proceeds of the dance will be devolved: the 750

euro fee for participation will be provided to the

Princess Grace Foundation, who for years supports

and assists emerging talent in theater, dance and film.
