Gemma Ward
comeback
Australian model Gemma Ward may be
planning a fashion comeback.
Ward, who was once at the top of the modeling pack, took a break from
the industry four years ago to pursue a career in acting. Between trying
to kill Liv Tyler inThe Strangers and a highly anticipated role in the
upcoming Great Gatsby movie, Ward has found various levels of
success on the silver screen.
But the fashion industry still has a Ward-shaped hole in its heart,
and it seems that Ward may finally be ready to fill it.
Frockwriter is reporting that Ward has signed with IMG Australia,
which opened its Aussie doors in July of last year “She hasn’t worked in this
market for a long time so to make the move obviously it’s because she wants to
further her career. She wants to get back into the Australian market,” IMG
Models Australia general manager Danielle Ragenard told Frockwriter.
According to IMG Australia General Manager Danielle Ragenard,
Ward has moved to Sydney and her first job can be expected in a
month’s time. “She’s an Australian girl and this is an important
market for her and she’s looking for everything IMG can offer
from endorsements to modelling to contracts,” Ragenard said.
The IMG declined to say whether or not Ward planned on
resurrecting her international career, nor did she mention
what board she would appear on.
